OJJDP’s National Training and Technical Assistance Center (NTTAC) proposes to support OJJDP in the development of a webinar to discuss the issue of brain injury and its impact on justice-involved youth. The webinar would provide an overview of brain injury (incidence/prevalence, causes, and effects) as well as a summary of the latest research around its over-representation in justice-involved populations. It would also address the impact on justice-involved youth in terms of risk and responsivity. At its conclusion, the webinar will highlight the National Partnership on Juvenile Services’ national position statement on brain injury as well as related policy/practice implications.
